A GUIDE TO CRITICAL ILLNESS INSURANCE 24 Your right to appeal If your claim is not accepted and you disagree with the decision, you have the right to appeal. Check the provisions of your policy to find out if there is a time limit to appeal, and then find out who and where, within the insurance company, to send your appeal information. If your appeal is turned down and you believe the decision is unjust, you can contact the OmbudService for Life and Health Insurance to discuss your case (see section 10). MAKING A CRITICAL ILLNESS CLAIM Tip: Have you read all of your policy or group benefits information? Take the time to review it. Your insurance is valuable and you should be fully aware of what is covered. Discuss any questions with your agent, or your human resources department or benefits administrator for group benefits.
