14 v. Insurance Acts Updates • Meetings with the responsible Ministers and officials in both New Brunswick and Nova Scotia indicated that there is a strong interest in harmonizing the Insurance Acts with the changes made in the Western Provinces and Ontario, particularly given the consumer benefits of such changes. The industry is considering what preparatory work we could do to facilitate the governments' work. In Saskatchewan, the CLHIA has made some initial representations on regulations expected to be made under that province's updated legislation. vi. Industry Advocacy • The industry advocacy campaign completed its fifth year during which we continued to build on a solid strategic base – with a growing profile for CLHIA and the industry iv. Enterprise Risk Management • CLHIA's Chief Risk Officers Policy Committee, comprising 22 industry CROs, continued to build upon its success from its inaugural year in 2013. At its meeting last June, the Committee approved CLHIA designing and conducting a third survey on ORSA practices to be completed early in the 2016-2017 fiscal year. • The Committee formed an Operational Risk Working Group to respond to OSFI's consultations on their draft Operational Risk Guideline; to dialogue on the Guideline's implementation; and more generally to discuss operational risk management best practices. Comprehensive submissions on the Draft, for both the directed consultation in April and the public consultation in October, were made to OSFI. – and demonstrated increasing measures of success. For example, we experienced a 79% increase in coverage in print and online media. We were also successful in placing several opinion editorials in various outlets including The Globe and Mail, La Presse online, InvestmentExecutive.com and The Toronto Star and were interviewed on some of CBC's Radio's national programs including White Coat Black Art. The CLHIA's foray into social media through Twitter also continued to gain momentum, with 1155 subscribers following our tweets, an increase of 317 (38%) followers since last year. • We also continued to strengthen our relationships with key policymakers across government through meetings with key officials in the Departments of Health, Finance, Infrastructure and Global Affairs Canada to raise issues of importance to the industry including Board of Directors President's Message Review of the Year's Results Members CLHIA Code of Member Service CLHIA Officers Chair's Message
