Premium Tax Mitigation • Increases in premium-based tax rates in Quebec and Alberta in late 2014 spurred ongoing representations to government by CLHIA to prevent such increases in other provinces throughout 2015-2016. This has helped avoid premium tax increases in 2016 in every province, except Newfoundland.
