advisors that has real potential for improving oversight significantly. Finally, we are continuing to communicate regularly and often to the federal government that the industry is not only keen to participate in the Infrastructure Bank, but is a key source of funding for Canada's infrastructure projects. While there are still many unanswered questions, we are hopeful we can play a major role. More Turbulence Ahead We are disappointed that federal Bill S-201, which bans insurers' access to genetic test results, received Royal Assent even though the government supported our view that the Bill is unconstitutional. We worked hard as an industry to introduce a solution that would ensure that the majority of Canadians could still purchase life insurance up to $250,000 without sharing the results of any genetic test. The government has committed to referring the Bill to the Supreme Court of Canada for an official view on its constitutionality, so the CLHIA will be active in representing the industry view at any Court proceedings. Frank has ably steered the CLHIA through many sensitive and complex issues over the past decade, and we wish him great health and happiness in this next chapter. We welcome incoming President and CEO Stephen Frank and wish him all the best in his new role. Dean Connor We will continue to shape our message to the public on this, which is about fairness in pricing among different groups of Canadians. In particular, it's not fair that, under Bill S-201, the better-off will be able to buy uncapped amounts of life insurance based on knowledge of health conditions that is not shared with insurers, which in turn will drive up the cost of insurance for middle-class Canadians. A Fond Farewell In closing, I would like to express on behalf of the Board and Council, our deep appreciation to CLHIA President and CEO Frank Swedlove who is retiring at the end of June after serving our industry for ten years.
